reggae musician Lazah Current
Longtime Toronto reggae musician Lazah Current dropped by the Eglinton TV Studio for an up-to-date conversation with “Pop Up Show” host Clifton Joseph. Lazah was a member of ground-breaking,Juno-award winning Canadian reggae group Messenjah, starting playing keyboard the backup vocals and eventually becoming one of its lead singers and deejay/singjay. He eventually left the band to pursued his solo career and moved from Toronto to Jamaica, where he is now based.
He released his debut album Glorious Ride”, followed it with “Betta Tomorrow” and his latest release is “Musical Migreat”. Lazah talks music, his time with Messenjah, the reggae scene then and now in Toronto, his decision to move to Jamaica and the trials he went through establishing himself there and his present musical movements.
